Hey everyone we heard from Samantha last night! She is now with her host family and is gearing up to start school this week. Her host dad (mikael) works for an electronics company and has given her a laptop and internet service --lucky little poop-- so she won't have the internet problems we were told she would have. She still does have to monitor her use because in Germany they have to pay by the minute for service. They also gave her a cell phone to use while she's there. It's one of the prepaid minute kind. It's for her to keep in touch with her German friends and her host family. She can't call out of Germany with it though. She said her host family lives in the town of Krefeld which is 30 minutes away from the Netherlands and Belgium borders and about 2 hours south of the North Sea.
